Our commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion

The Health Foundation’s mission is to bring about better health and health care in the UK. 

Building greater equity, diversity and inclusion in society, in the health and care system and in our own organisation are all essential parts of our commitment to building a healthy society.

How we do this: 

• As part of our mission, we conduct research and policy analysis on inequalities in society, health and care – where they are, who experiences them, and what the solutions are to addressing them. To achieve this, we seek evidence and ideas from a diverse range of sources and people.  

• We are considering how best to leverage our role as a funder by exploring how we can use our grant funding, and our grant application processes, to ensure equity, diversity and inclusion will be considered in the programmes and research we fund. 

• We also make a difference through how we run our organisation. We aim to be an inclusive employer and seek to broaden the diversity of the people who work here. We are working to ensure that our organisation and culture is fair and inclusive, values diversity and harnesses the abilities of all our people. 

We are committed to continuing to learn about and improve how we support greater equity, diversity and inclusion. We are proud of the work we have done so far but know we have much more to do. We are currently looking at how we can best do this as part of our strategy refresh happening over 2022.
