  • This grant programme funds partnership projects between UK Public Health Network organisations and partners from outside of the public health community.
  • The projects demonstrate the potential for improving people’s health by taking action on one or more of the social determinants of health.
  • We aim to share results in 2020, as part of our wider work on health inequalities and the social determinants of health.

To create a healthier UK population, we need to mobilise people and organisations across a wide range of sectors to take action on the social determinants of health.

We’ve launched a new grant programme to fund partnership projects between UK Public Health Network organisations and partners from outside of the public health community. The projects must demonstrate the potential for improving people’s health by taking action on one or more of the social determinants of health.

The projects will work on four key areas of interest:

  • early years and education
  • work and income
  • housing and places
  • communities

Five projects have been awarded £40–60,000 and each will run for 12–18 months. We aim to share learnings from the projects in 2020, as part of our wider work on health inequalities and our role in Health Equity in England: Marmot 10 years on.
