The Health Foundation has appointed Charles Tallack as Director of Data Analytics.
A strong feature of the Foundation’s work is undertaking, commissioning and championing high quality quantitative analysis. This provides actionable insights on key issues and helps improve health and care for the UK population. As Director of Data Analytics, Charles will play a central role in doing that, as well as developing data and analytical capabilities across the organisation's work.
Charles currently works as Interim Director of Data Analytics. He joined the Health Foundation in February 2019 as Assistant Director and played a key role in setting up the REAL Centre which has established itself as an authority on strategic, long-term issues facing the health and care system.
Charles has spent most of his career in health and public policy analysis. Previous roles include head of operational research and evaluation at NHS England, head of social care analysis at DHSC, chief analyst to the Dilnot Commission and senior policy analysis roles in the Prime Minister’s Strategy Unit and HM Treasury. He will begin his role formally from 1 September.
Charles Tallack, Director of Data Analytics at the Health Foundation, said:
‘I’m delighted to be appointed as Director of Data Analytics. The Health Foundation has a reputation for undertaking and supporting high quality, innovative and insightful analysis and has a strong and experienced team. I look forward to building on this so that the full power of analysis is brought to bear on improving the health and care of people in the UK.’
Jennifer Dixon, Chief Executive of the Health Foundation, said:
‘I am thrilled Charles is taking up this post, with his extensive experience. With health and care services under such pressure, understanding the challenges well and designing solutions using data and quantitative analysis has never been more important.’
