Patrick South has been appointed as Director of Communications at the Health Foundation.

Patrick is currently Director of Communications and Information at The King’s Fund, a post which he has held since 2016. He has a wealth of experience in health and social policy communications and influencing. He started his career in the civil service and led external affairs at Shelter, Age UK and the Resolution Foundation, before joining The King’s Fund in 2010.

Patrick replaces Sam Fletcher who is shortly joining the Sutton Trust as Director of Communications and Public Affairs. He will start his role with us in the autumn.

Dr Jennifer Dixon, Chief Executive of the Health Foundation said:

‘Patrick has a very impressive track record and experience. I am so thrilled he is joining us especially at such a challenging time for the health of the nation and the health and social care system. The Foundation needs to maximise its impact at times like these to benefit the UK population, and communications has a crucial role to help deliver that’.

Patrick South said:

‘I’m delighted to be joining the Health Foundation at such an exciting time for the organisation. The Foundation will have an important role to play in supporting the health and care system to address the challenges it faces over the next few years. I’m looking forward to joining a talented team and helping to deliver a very exciting and ambitious programme of work.’
